"Interested Parents,
I too was skeptical about bringing my son, Marcus, to PowerStrength.  Why not just have him lift with the other kids in the high school weight room?  It appeared to me the high school had the same equipment, his friends, supervision of the high school coaches, so why was it necessary for me to pay an additional fee, not to mention the hassle of driving him there and picking him up when he could walk to the high school weight room?

My oldest son, Vafa, is a friend of Mark's and he really pushed me to get his little brother in PowerStrength with a guy that "knows his stuff" as he explained it to me.  He indicated Mark was the one person he trusted completely to not only assist his brother, but also be a positive mentor in his life.
I signed Marcus up when the gym opened in June, and am now a total convert.  Marcus is an A student academically, but in athletics he did not have the same confidence.  While he gave his best effort, the results were simply not there.  Since he started working out under Mark's guidance and direction, he can feel how his strength has increased, and he is really excited about the progress he is making.  It is his desire to work out with Mark all year round so he can bring his athletic ability to the level of his academics.  In addition, he is focused on a "healthy" lifestyle, including watching what he eats, as Mark is always teaching his students how muscles grow and what you need to do, and not do, outside of the weight room to achieve the best results.
I would strongly encourage you to find out more about PowerStrength and take the time to meet Mark Ehnis if you have a student looking to increase their athletic ability.  Mark is a naturally gifted teacher.  He knows how to tailor workouts to bring out the best in each student.  His encouragement and support goes beyond the weight room and results in a very positive relationship with each student as kids really look up to Mark.  Mark is exceptionally strong, and provides an excellent role model for students who want to achieve those same results.  His leadership skills are outstanding and his quiet confidence allows him to retain his authority when he needs to and yet make the lifting experience a lot of fun when the kids are working out.  He is continually changing the exercise progression so students are always challenged and they do not get bored with any one routine.  He creates an uplifting environment in the gym for each student and encourages the more advanced students to reach out and be supportive of the less advanced students in a positive manner.  The professional level of workouts these students are getting is amazing.  And the results your student will experience are second to none.  I am very pleased my novice athlete has the opportunity to be as successful athletically as he is academically.
Thanks Mark for all you do, it is greatly appreciated."

"Mark,
Just a quick note on the success of my sons, Jake and Hayden, are having after attending your two month "little beast" sessions at PowerStrength.  Both are now in the midst of preseason football right now with great results so far.  Jake is starting at guard and 2nd string linebacker while Hayden is starting at both offensive guard and defensive end.  As you know Jake is undersized to be starting in the 8th grade offensive line at 110 lbs but the strength, and more importantly the attitude and desire instilled in him partly at PowerStrength have allowed him to make his size a non-issue so far.
Mary and I just wanted to thank you for giving the kids a very important tool to succeed not only in their sporting endeavors but in life as well- and that is the ability to overcome obstacles that they previously thought impossible.  After every workout at your facility the boys came home tired and sweaty and a little nauseous, but with a sense of accomplishment of something that was out of reach by their standard before the workout.  I will always remember Hayden rushing home to tell me that he had deadlifted the two 70 lb kettlebells even after another boy had told him that was "impossible"- apparently not at PowerStrength.
You do a fabulous job teaching the young boys what it is to truly push themselves and not only compete with others but more importantly to always compete with themselves.
Thanks again for all of your hard work.  The boys will definitely be back at PowerStrength next summer."

“Over the recent months Bobby Halso has benefited greatly by his time spent at PSTS. He has added good weight and strength. More importantly, as a sophomore playing varsity football this year, he has added confidence. He very much enjoys going to PSTS. The leadership and friendship there are important to him, and the results are impressive. Thank you PSTS for all you do for Bobby.”- Susan Halso- Mother of PSTS athlete, Bobby Halso
